Blah blah, it's been a while, blah blah. TRY THIS RECIPE! Caramel Chai. I don't know if you guys have tried the dirty chai tea lattes from Starbucks but they are amazing. I don't even like Starbucks (I'm admittedly a coffee snob), but the dirty chai tea lattes are amazing and actually keep me awake. I saw this recipe on Not Without Salt and had to try it. It's really easy and even better than the ones from Starbucks, especially since I added my own shots of Blue Bottle coffee espresso.
I also rediscovered one of the best kitchen staples ever, especially for busy worker bees or students–the rotisserie chicken. Whole Foods has great ones, I got the herbes de provence flavor and it was fantastic. I'd all but forgotten how convenient rotisserie chickens actually are. Super healthy salads and sandwiches in no time.
For instance, I made a sandwich with hummus and fresh vegetables. Made another sandwich with fresh veggies, goat cheese, and fig jam. The salad below was so, so good. I had some grapefruit so I made grapefruit vinaigrette with agave and added the segments into the salad. Feta cheese would've been a great addition, but I didn't have any one hand. Made for a lower calorie meal though so I can't argue with that.
Btw, it's been so. freaking. cold. in Indiana lately. I cannot wait to get back to California on Sunday. I can drink my chai lattes there in shorts.
