Fitness Friday!

a548c3795e7a60a471516f88d676fcd8
Best believe I did NOT look cute after yesterday's workout. Holy crap. I'll go into more detail later but let's just say I strongly dislike Cassey Ho from Blogilates (but in a good way).

This week was a bit of a struggle for me. (I feel like a broken record...) I had to deal with flying back to school from LA on Friday (the entire trip took 15 hours!) only to drive 1.5 hours to take an exam on Saturday morning. Since I had already rented a car for the test and had a couple hours leftover on it, I decided to make a grocery run. Grocery shopping on a Saturday is exhausting. The crowds! Ugh, and why is it that every time I'm in a massive hurry everyone and their mother wants to have a conversation with me?? Anyway, long story short, this weekend was exhausting. And, unfortunately, that fatigue has overflowed into the rest of the week. BUT, I've done my best to power through! Let's see how I did.

Here's the recap
  • Friday: Left the house for the airport at 6:15am and didn't get home until 1:15am. Needless to say, this was a no workout day.
  • Saturday: Rest day, fosho. Left the house at 6:30am for an exam and got home from the grocery store at 3pm, exhausted.
  • Sunday: Video Day!
  • Monday
    • Tara Stiles morning yoga video
    • 4.38 mile run (with 0.15 walking warm up) OUTSIDE! I also used my Charity Miles app and was sponsored for those miles to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association! There are several charities you can choose from and you can even be sponsored for walking or cycling! I highly recommend this, because I mean why not??
    • Post-run yoga video (2x)
  • Tuesday: Rest day. Spent the day in my pajamas and loved it.
  • Wednesday: 3.3 mile run with 0.15 walking warm up. I used my Charity Miles app again to donate to Wounded Warriors :). I'm unsure why, but this run was super difficult for me. My legs felt so heavy and every step was a struggle. I hope it was just one of those days but we'll see on my next run. Post-run yoga video
  • Thursday
    • Tara Stiles morning yoga for flexibility video
    • Denise Austen Yoga Metabolism Booster video
    • Blogilates April Abs Core Conditioning (Day 1, approximately 55 minutes of ABS ABS ABS). So, I signed up for Blogilates' April workout calendar and it's pretty extensive. The core conditioning consisted of 5 videos, each spanning 8-17 minutes in length. The workouts were great [read: hard]. To get access to the workout calendar, you just have to sign up for her newsletter (which is free) and you'll receive a password. She also provides recipes and food tips. She's incredibly upbeat and motivating, although the super bright colors and [over]peppiness can be a bit much for me sometimes. Especially by the 50th minute...
There's my week! Because I was so tired I realize I neglected to do the squat challenge I intended to... but I'm gonna! I don't think I'll do it everyday for 30 days straight since I like to mix up my workouts and try new things, but I'll definitely complete it. Speaking of, I'll be incorporating @kayla_itsines' circuit (above) into my regimen.

Also, if you have any workout recommendations, please comment with them!

  1. I NEVER look good at the gym. My hair is wet from root to tip from sweat and my face is always bright tomato red! But at least I know I worked hard :)

  3. I love this! I used to "workout" at the gym until my fiance introduced me to real workouts!! Needless to say I'm not looking so hot by the time we leave the gym haha. Thanks for the recommendations for workout videos! I love working out at home sometimes since it is so much more convenient :) Can't wait to check out your other posts!

  6. I'm always looking for new workout ideas (and pinning as I do), so I've pinned this and will give it a shot at the gym tomorrow. I also can't wait to run outside. It's still too cold for that here, but the time is coming!

I just found your blog and really love it. I'm your newest Bloglovin' follower! Hopefully you'll check mine out too :)
